The Shining Darkness Sneak Peek has come and gone, and with the official release of the set just 1 day away, we’re going to take a look at two X-Saber cards that might be new to you. X-Saber Pashuul and X-Saber Palomuro are both Tuner monsters that give X-Saber Duelists even more flexibility in their Deck building, allowing you to add more X-Sabers to your Deck while removing cards like Krebons that don’t help you use your best Spell and Trap Cards.

X-Saber Pashuul is small, but it can’t be destroyed by battle. Since it’s a Level 2 Tuner monster, you can easily Set it in Defense Position, let it get attacked by your opponent, and then summon another monster next turn, allowing you to Summon a Synchro Monster of your choosing. The price you pay for Pashuul is that you take 1000 damage if it’s in face-up Defense Position during your Standby Phase. That little bit of damage usually won’t matter in the long run, because your opponent will likely have a Synchro Monster staring them down in less than a turn.
Now that Pashuul is around, X-Saber players no longer have to run cards like Krebons orPlaguespreader Zombie in order to use a level 2 Tuner in their Deck. Not only that, but Pashuul helps you get an X-Saber monster on the field and keep it there in order to fulfill the condition of having 2 face-up X-Saber monsters on your field to Special Summon X-Saber Faultroll. Lastly, Pashuul is compatible with all the other X-Saber support such as Saber Slash, Gottom’s Emergency Call, and Saber Vault. It’s especially good with XX-Saber Boggart Knight because you can Special Summon it with the effect of Boggart Knight and immediately Summon XX-Saber Hyunlei!
X-Saber Palomuro is a level 1 Tuner Monster that never really goes away. Whenever a “Saber” monster on your side of the field is destroyed by battle, you can pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon it from your Graveyard. It’s hard to run out of monsters when you have Palomuro in the Graveyard, and if you have XX-Saber Emmersblade on the field you can turn that one monster into two! If XX-Saber Emmersblade is destroyed by battle you can activate its effect and the effect of Palomuro. That means that you’ll get Palomuro and a Level 4 or lower X-Saber from your Deck, so you’ll have 2 X-Saber monsters on the field!  You’ll be ready to Summon XX-Saber Faultroll as soon as its your turn!
With Palomuro and Pashuul, more combos are available to X-Saber Duelists. Using cards likeGottoms’ Emergency Call along with the rest of your X-Sabers, you can now easily give yourself access to any Synchro Monster you’d like, Special Summon a ton of monsters, and deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time.  Using a combination of Pashuul’s ability to never be destroyed by battle, and Palomuro’s ability to special summon himself quite easily from the Graveyard, it’s very possible to almost always have at least two X-Saber Monsters on the field, allowing you to Special Summon Faultroll even more easily.  After The Shining Darkness releases tomorrow, X-Saber Decks are going to show up more and more at your local tournaments and Regional Qualifier events everywhere!
