In Absolute Powerforce, XX-Saber Emmersblade pulled
together the X-Saber theme and allowed X-Saber Duelists to reach new heights in
tournaments. The Shining Darkness has another new X-Saber that will
make X-Saber Decks better than ever: XX-Saber Darksoul.
XX-Saber Darksoul is just what X-Saber Duelists need to rise
to the top of the competitive scene. When it’s sent to the Graveyard while under
your control, you can add any X-Saber monster from your Deck to your hand during
the End Phase. That’s right – it can be sent from the field to the Graveyard in
any way and its effect will activate, just like
Sangan. You can use it for a Synchro Summon, let it get
destroyed in battle, or watch your opponent destroy it with a Spell or Trap
Card. If it’s destroyed on your opponent’s turn, you can even grab an X-Saber to
use on your next turn.
Thanks to Darksoul, X-Saber Duelists finally have a reliable way to search
their Decks for XX-Saber Faultroll and add it to their hands,
because Darksoul can search for ANY X-Saber monster. With
XX-Saber Emmersblade and XX-Saber Boggart Knight
making Faultroll so easy to Summon, you’ll want to grab it from your
Deck as quickly as you can. If you already have Faultroll in your hand and are
having trouble getting 2 X-Sabers on the field at the same time, don’t worry.
You can use XX-Saber Darksoul to search your Deck for Boggart
Knight or Emmersblade instead.
If you need Faultroll, you can use Emmersblade to
Special Summon Darksoul from your Deck. When Darksoul is sent to the Graveyard,
you’ll be able to grab Faultroll.
XX-Saber Darksoul is a Level 3 Beast-Type monster, which
means you can Special Summon it from your Deck alongside X-Saber
Airbellum with the effect of Rescue Cat. Then you can
Tune them together to Synchro Summon a Level 6 monster, including
XX-Saber Hyunlei. During your End Phase, you’ll be able to
search your Deck for any X-Saber monster with the effect of XX-Saber
Darksoul.
Use Rescue Cat to Special Summon Darksoul &
Airbellum from your Deck for a Synchro Summon. Then you can search your Deck for
any X-Saber monster in your End Phase.
Even without a Tuner, XX-Saber Darksoul is a solid card to draw. Setting Darksoul in Defense Position so your opponent can destroy it will help you set up your hand for the rest of the Duel. If you Set Darksoul on your first turn, you’ll be off to a strong start.
