How did you find this article? Are you trying to steal our ancient Ninja secrets? You’re welcome to try, but without Order of Chaos cards you’ll never succeed! Mwahahaha!]

Since the first days of Dueling, a silent force has lain in wait, gathering its numbers and hiding in the shadows: Ninjas. This January, the wait is over. Order of Chaos brings the deadliest members of this hidden brotherhood out of the darkness, and under your command! Ten new Ninjas and five new “Ninjitsu Art” cards mean countless ways to build a Ninja Deck, but no matter what strategy you choose, it all starts with some impressive new monsters.

Duel the (Grand)Master

Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo will lead your clandestine strike! With 1800 ATK, Hanzo packs two awesome search effects that let a Ninja Duelist get to the tools and tricks they need:

-When Hanzo is Normal Summoned, you can grab a “Ninjitsu Art” card from your Deck.

-When he’s Flip or Special Summoned, you get a different “Ninja” monster from your Deck instead.

Hanzo’s Ninja search ability works perfectly with Upstart Golden Ninja. Once a turn, Golden Ninja’s effect lets you send a trap card from your hand to the Graveyard, to Special Summon another Level 4 Ninja from your Deck. It’s Summoned in either face-up or face-down Defense Position: use Golden Ninja to Special Summon Hanzo face-up, and you can use Hanzo’s ability to get another Ninja from your Deck.

More Rank 4!

Once you do, you’ll control two Level 4 Warrior-Types: overlay them to Xyz Summon the mighty Blade Armor Ninja! With 2200 ATK, Blade Armor’s effect lets you detach an Xyz Material to turn one of your face-up Ninjas into a double attacker until the end of the turn. Use its effect on itself, and Blade Armor Ninja can attack for as much as 4400 Battle Damage.

Activate Upstart Golden Ninja’s effect to Special Summon Hanzo, then overlay your two Ninjas to Xyz Summon; you’ll trade two cards from your hand to search a Ninja with Hanzo, and you’ll upgrade Golden Ninja into a Rank 4 Xyz Monster. Use Hanzo’s effect to get another Golden Ninja, and you can do the same trick again next turn.

The end result is that you lost nothing, and gained everything! The Golden Ninja is now a Rank 4 Xyz Monster, and the Trap you didn’t need is a new Ninja to play next turn!

Ninjitsu Art Project

As great as calling a Ninja from your Deck can be, Hanzo’s ability to seek out “Ninjitsu Art” cards is even better. Order of Chaos includes five new Ninjitsu Arts with unique powers. From drawing cards to freezing or shrinking your opponent’s monsters, these new Ninjitsu Arts can do just about anything. But two of them work especially well with the new Level 7 Ninja, White Dragon Ninja.

Wielding a deadly 2700 ATK, this LIGHT Dragon-Type’s awesome effect makes it a must-run. White Dragon Ninja can’t be Special Summoned, except by “Ninjitsu Art” cards (it can be Tribute Summoned); but once it’s on the field, your Spell and Trap Cards can’t be destroyed by card effects. That means cards like Heavy Storm, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Black Rose Dragon can’t touch you.

That effect also makes White Dragon Ninja a perfect combo for the new Continuous Trap, Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation:

Target 1 face-up “Ninja” monster you control and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; send them to the Graveyard, then Special Summon to your side of the field 1 Dragon, Dinosaur, or Sea Serpent-Type monster from your Deck whose Level is less than or equal to the combined Levels of the sent monster(s). When this card leaves the field, banish that monster.

Super-Transformation is one of the best Continuous Traps of all time, and it’s a great reason to build a Ninja Deck. You can Normal Summon Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo to get Super-Transformation from your Deck, then use it to send Hanzo and one of your opponent’s monsters to the Graveyard next turn. If those monsters total 7 Levels between them, you can Special Summon White Dragon Ninja from your Deck. Normally, your opponent could destroy Super-Transformation to banish whatever you Special Summoned, but the Dragon Ninja’s ability makes that impossible. Super-Transformation can Special Summon a lot of other monsters too, including Exploder Dragon at Level 3, Koa’ki Meiru Drago at Level 4, Kaiser Glider at Level 6, and even Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon and Dark Horus at Level 8.

The Art of Illusion

With White Dragon Ninja on the field, you’re locked and loaded to play another new “Ninjitsu Art” card: Ninjitsu Art of Duplication. Duplication lets you Tribute a “Ninja” monster, then Special Summon Ninjas from your Deck with combined Levels equal to or less than the Ninja you Tributed. Tribute White Dragon Ninja to Special Summon two more Ninjas like Hanzo and Karakuri Ninja mdl 339 “Sazank”. The Ninjas you Special Summon can come out in either face-up Attack Position or face-down Defense Position, so you can keep Hanzo face-up and Set Sazank to get both Ninja’s effects.

The new Ninjas come prepared with an arsenal of shadowy tricks, stealing the opponent’s monsters to Summon enormous Dragons, Dinosaurs, and Sea Serpents, while making powerful Rank 4 Xyz Summons. Since so many new Ninjas are LIGHT and DARK, they work really well with Chaos Sorcerer and Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, too. After all these years, Ninjas are finally ready to show their true powers! Will you answer the call to arms?
