Extreme Victory has a bunch of new cards for Six Samurai Duelists! From Shien’s Dojo toShien’s Advisor, there are lots of choices to make when you sit down to build your new and improved Six Samurai Deck. One of the best new cards is also the most overlooked: Elder of the Six Samurai. It creates new combos that can help your Deck do things more consistently, as well as help your Deck do some new things too.
Simple combos are often the best. If your opponent controls at least one monster, and you don’t control any monsters of your own, you can simply Special Summon Elder of the Six Samurai, Normal Summon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai, and Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En or any Level 5 Synchro Monster you might need. This is a very easy combo to pull off, and is very similar to the Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki into Kagemusha combo that you probably already use. You can never have too many ways to Summon Shi En!
Synchro Summoning Level 8 monsters used to be a big challenge for Samurai Duelists. WithElder of the Six Samurai, it’s easy! Special Summon Elder of the Six Samurai using its effect, then Normal Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki, and use HIS effect to Special Summon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai. Then you can Synchro Summon a Level 8 monster. From Stardust Dragon to Colossal Fighter, the options are endless.

Elder of the Six Samurai also makes some Six Samurai cards from Storm of Ragnarok even more useful. Special Summoning Elder of the Six Samurai and activating Asceticism of the Six Samurai to Special Summon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai, gives you yet another way to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En. Then, since you haven’t Normal Summoned yet, you are free to summon a monster of your choice, my favorite choice beingLegendary Six Samurai – Enishi. Since you already have two Six Samurai monsters in your Graveyard for sure, you can use his effect once no matter what the situation, and depending on how late in the game this is, you might be able to use it 2 or 3 times! In my experience, Shi En + Enishi = a victory for you as there is very, very little an opponent can do to deal with both of them.
Elder of the Six Samurai isn’t just for Samurai Decks though! If you use a little creativity, you’ll find it works in other great Decks too. From X-Sabers (Pashuul + Elder = Shi En) to Tech Genus (Striker + Elder = Shi En), there’s room for Shi En shenanigans no matter what your Deck preference is. Keep an eye out, because I’m sure there are many more uses for Elder of the Six Samurai that haven’t even been mentioned here.
