Trap Cards usually provide the strongest defenses for a Duelist, but now there’s a Synchro Monster that can tear right through those defenses.
Naturia Barkion is a Level 6 Synchro Monster that can be Synchro Summoned by Tuning EARTH monsters together. Since all of the Naturia monsters are EARTH monsters, you can Tune any combination of them whose Levels add to 6 for the Level 6 Synchro Summon of Naturia Barkion. Naturia Barkion is even useful outside of Naturia Decks. There are lots of powerful, low-Level EARTH monsters you can be use to Synchro Summon Naturia Barkion.
Since all X-Sabers are EARTH-Attribute monsters, any combination of X-Sabers that could be Tuned into XX-Saber Hyunlei, can also Synchro Summon Naturia Barkion. Having the option of Synchro Summoning Hyunlei or Barkion in a given situation is a powerful addition to your X-Saber arsenal.
Even though XX-Saber Hyunlei can destroy as many as 3 of your opponent’s Spell and Trap Cards when it’s Summoned, it’s vulnerable to any of the Traps that your opponent may Chain. If your opponent has Bottomless Trap Hole face-down when you Summon Hyunlei, you can bet that your opponent will Chain it to remove your Hyunlei from the Duel. But Naturia Barkiondoesn’t have that weakness! Since Barkion negates Trap Cards instead of just destroying them, you can negate Bottomless Trap Hole with its effect and make sure your Barkion stays on the field. Naturia Barkion can also negate other popular Trap Cards, like Icarus Attack,Mirror Force, and Starlight Road.
You can also Synchro Summon Naturia Barkion in a Scrap Deck too, since all of the Scraps are EARTH-Attribute monsters. Unusual combinations for Synchro Summons, like Scrap Golem plusScrap Mind Reader, Scrap Beast plus Morphing Jar, or Scrap Goblin plus Card Trooper, allow you to create the Level 6 Naturia Barkion when you may need it most.
The release of Naturia Barkion also boosts the utility of Power Giant. Power Giant is a Level 6 EARTH monster who’s Level can be reduced when you Special Summon it from your hand. The flexibility of its Level makes it a great monster to use for Synchro Summoning a Level 5Naturia Beast or Level 6 Naturia Barkion. Both of these Synchro Monsters can only be Synchro Summoned by Tuning EARTH monsters together, and they both have powerful abilities that can lock down your opponent’s plays. Since Power Giant can adjust its Level, you can Summon either one of them, no matter which EARTH Tuners you’re running in your Deck.
Naturia Barkion is a strong monster with a unique ability. If your Main Deck contains any combination of monsters that can be Tuned together to Synchro Summon it, Naturia Barkionwill make a powerful addition to your Extra Deck!
