Yesterday we showed you the pint-sized wonder, Formula Synchron.  It’s the first-ever Synchro Monster that’s also a Tuner, and while there are lots of cool monsters to Synchro Summon with it, there’s 1 that stands above the rest: Yusei’s Shooting Star Dragon!

With 3300 ATK, 2500 DEF, and 3 awesome effects, no other Synchro Monster can match the power of Shooting Star Dragon.  You can use each of its 3 abilities once a turn:
-Reveal the top 5 cards of your Deck. Shuffle them back in, and this card’s maximum number of attacks this turn is equal to the number of Tuner monsters revealed.
-Negate the activation of an effect that would destroy a card(s) on the field, and destroy that card.
-When your opponent’s monster declares an attack, you can select it, then remove this card from play and negate the attack. During the End Phase, Special Summon this card that was removed from play by this effect.
Those effects make it tough for your opponent to attack or destroy your cards.  And if 3300 ATK wasn’t enough, its first effect can let it attack up to 5 times in 1 turn.  You can use cards like Plaguespreader ZombieA Feather of the Phoenix, and Pot of Avarice to return Tuners to your Deck and make more attacks possible.  Once Shooting Star Dragon hits the field, victory is just a turn or 2 away.
Tune Stardust Dragon to a Tuner Synchro Monster to Synchro Summon Shooting Star Dragon!

But how do you Synchro Summon Shooting Star Dragon?  Summoning Formula Synchron andStardust Dragon might seem tough, but a few clever combos make those Summons a snap.  Check it out:
Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth can Special Summon all 4 monsters you need to Synchro Summon Shooting Star Dragon.

Coelacanth’s effect lets you discard a card to Special Summon as many as 4 Level 4 or lower Fish-Type monsters from your Deck.  Earlier this Summer we showed you the Genex Fish Deck: it used Coelacanth to Special Summon 4 Fish for quick Synchro Summons.  We saw another Coelacanth Deck in action at YCS Philadelphia, too, claiming victory in our Round 8 Feature Match.   If you Summon 7 Colored Fish and Royal Swamp Eel, you can Tune them to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon.  And if your other 2 Fish are Fishborg Blaster and DeepseaMacrotrema, you can Synchro Summon Formula Synchron and draw a card.  Tune them together to Summon Shooting Star Dragon.  This combo lets you discard something you don’t need, draw another card, and unleash Shooting Star for free.
For an even cooler combo, bring out 7 Colored FishRoyal Swamp EelOyster Meister, andFishborg Blaster.  Tune 7 Colored Fish and Swamp Eel for Stardust Dragon, then Tune Oyster Meister and Fishborg for Armory Arm: that Special Summons a Level 1 Oyster Token.  Discard to Special Summon Fishborg Blaster, Tune it to the Oyster Token, and Synchro Summon Formula Synchron.  By the time you’re done, you’ll control Shooting Star, Coelacanth, and Armory Arm: a total of 7900 ATK.
With the right Graveyard, a Flamvell Duelist can use Rekindling to Synchro Summon Shooting Star.

You can Tune Flamvell Magician and Flamvell Firedog to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon, while Flamvell Baby and Flamvell Poun can Summon Formula Synchron.  You can Summon all 4 from your Graveyard with the Spell Card Rekindling, so a Flamvell Duelist can bring outShooting Star Dragon and nab a free draw with just 1 card.  Filling your Graveyard with the right Flamvell monsters is easy: Flamvell Firedog lets you Special Summon any of the other 3 Flamvells from your Deck when it destroys a monster in battle.  Flamvell Poun searches other Flamvells, and you can discard Flamvell Baby to boost a FIRE Monster’s ATK.  Fill your Graveyard, activate Rekindling, and let loose with Stardust Dragon’s ultimate form!
Starlight Road makes it easy to Summon Shooting Star Dragon.

If your Deck doesn’t have a flashy Shooting Star combo, you can still use Starlight Road to pull everything together.  Starlight protects your cards from destruction while Special SummoningStardust Dragon, so from there, it’s as easy as Summoning Formula Synchron and Tuning it to Stardust.  Remember: Formula Synchron is easy to Summon in lots of different Decks, so this combo can work almost anywhere.
There are lots of ways to Summon Shooting Star Dragon, and we’re just scratching the surface.  Special Summon Cyber Dragon, Normal Summon Junk Synchron, and use it to Special Summon Formula Synchron from your Graveyard!  Or, Tune Debris Dragon,Dandylion, and a Fluff Token for Stardust Dragon, then use the remaining Fluff Token withSporeEffect Veiler, or Glow-Up Bulb to make Formula Synchron.  The possibilities are endless, so be on the lookout for Shooting Star Dragon at your Starstrike Blast Sneak Peek!
