Some cards are just flat-out good cards that anyone can put in their Deck. The new Intercept Wave Spell Card from The Shining Darkness is one of those cards, and if you’ve  been having trouble dealing with Synchro Monsters lately it might be just what you need to get your Deck back on track.

Like a mad scientist fused Enemy Controller and Compulsory Evacuation Device...

Intercept Wave is a Quick-Play Spell Card that turns all Synchro Monsters to Defense Position. But that’s not all it does! You already got to block your opponent’s attacks by forcing their  Stardust Dragon and Thought Ruler Archfiend into Defense Position, and then, during the End Phase, you get to eliminate them completely!. During the End Phase of the turn you activate it, all Synchro Monsters on the field are sent back to the Extra Deck. So not only did you just stop your opponent’s attacks, but you also eliminated those huge threats entirely!
Cards like Mirror Force that can destroy multiple monsters are always worth running, but sometimes you need a card that removes the threat without actually destroying it. Mirror Force can be negated by the effect of Stardust Dragon or worse, Starlight Road. Intercept Wave can’t. Enemy Controller and Compulsory Evacuation Device can be negated by the effect of Thought Ruler ArchfiendIntercept Wave cannot. It will stop your opponent’s attacks, and send all those intimidating monsters away where they can’t bother you, to your opponent’s Extra Deck. The only thing you have to do is make sure you don’t have any Synchro Monsters of your own that you don’t want sent back to your Extra Deck. Sometimes returning your own monsters can be useful, but most of the time you’ll want to keep them on the field. So be careful when you’re using  Intercept Wave and make sure that you use it wisely!

I’d feel sorry for Yusei if he lost all this to Intercept Wave…

Even if you don’t have room in your Main Deck for Intercept Wave or you play a Deck where it can hurt more than it helps, you should still have it in your Side Deck just in case. If your opponent Summons 4 Synchro Monsters in the same turn, you need to be able to get rid of them, no matter what the cost. Remember, losing 1 of your own Synchro Monsters isn’t the end of the Duel. Losing all your Life Points is. Without a doubt, Intercept Wave can help you to beat some of the best Decks around.
