This week we’re going to answer some of the common concerns that many Duelists have when they first hear about Infernity Decks. Some Duelists are discounting the Infernity strategy just because there are cards that can negate some of the key cards in the Infernity Deck. But that holds true for every winning Deck out there, and like every other winning Deck, the Infernity Deck has ways to deal with them.

“What do I do if my opponent has Royal Oppression?”

You do a lot of Special Summoning with the Infernity Deck, so Royal Oppression can be a big concern for any Infernity Duelist. If it’s played early in the Duel it’ll likely be used against the Infernity Mirage or Infernity Launcher that you’re trying to start your combo with. Before you try anything fancy you’ll want to have this Trap Card Set and ready to use.

Infernity Break lets you destroy any one of your opponent’s cards. If you Chain Infernity Break to the effect of Royal Oppression to destroy it, the effect of Royal Oppression will disappear and your Special Summon will be successful!

“What happens when I draw too many monsters?”

Drawing too many monsters can be frustrating because you can only Normal Summon one monster per turn. There are many cards you can use to help you to control your hand size.

We talked about Infernity Inferno last week as a way to help you get the right monsters into the Graveyard. You have to discard 1 or 2 cards from your hand to activate Infernity Inferno, so you can discard your extra monsters to activate it. Those monsters go to the Graveyard where you can Special Summon them later, making Infernity Inferno a really excellent card to have.

Wave-Motion Inferno is a cool new Continuous Spell Card that’s useful whether you have cards in your hand or not.

If you have no cards in your hand, it gives all of your Infernity monsters an extra 400 ATK and DEF. If you do have cards in your hand, you can send Wave-Motion Inferno to the Graveyard to send all the cards in your hand to the Graveyard. No matter how many extra monsters you have in your hand, you can get rid of all of them all at once with Wave-Motion Inferno.

“My opponent just played Icarus Attack/Judgment Dragon/Saber Slash/Bottomless Trap Hole and its going to ruin everything!”

That’s not a question, nor is it going to ruin everything. All you have to do to render your opponent’s trump cards useless is flip Infernity Barrier!

As long as you have no cards in your hand and an Attack Position “Infernity” monster you can use Infernity Barrier to negate the activation of any Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster’s effect. It’s one of the best cards in the Infernity arsenal, and like every other “Infernity” card you can search it from your Deck with Infernity Archfiend! Search out Infernity Barrier on the turn before you go on the offensive to make sure your opponent can’t stop you with Battle Fader or any other powerful cards!

Infernity Barrier is a vital part of a long-term Infernity strategy. While most of the time you’ll be trying to win the Duel in just a few short turns, sometimes things don’t work out as planned. Infernity Barrier helps make sure they do, and next week we’ll talk about what else you should do if the Duel is taking longer than you’d like it to.
