During the[Damage Step, in either player's turn,
when a face-up EARTH Normal Monster you
control attacks or is attacked: You can send
this card from your hand to the Graveyard;
that monster gains 1000 ATK
and DEF until the End Phase

This cards effect is similar to "Honest", "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow", and "Stronghold Guardian". It is like a combination of "Kalut" and "Stronghold Guardian" because "Kalut" increases ATK and "Stronghold Guardian" increases DEF, while this card increases both.
This monster's face/head bears a very strong resemblance to Vivi from Final Fantasy IX.
This card can be searched via "Magician's Circle", "Giant Rat", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest", and "Last Will".
You can use this card with a Gemini monster such as "Gem-Knight Amber".Sending "Gem-Merchant" to the Graveyard is a cost to activate its effect.The effect of "Gem-Merchant" does not target.
You can activate the effect of a card like "Gem-Merchant", "Honest", or "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow" during the Damage Step only while the monster is face-up.Example: If a face-down "Gem-Knight Garnet" is attacked, then you can activate the effect of "Gem-Merchant" after the face-down "Gem-Knight Garnet" is flipped face-up.
You can activate the effect of "Gem-Merchant" from the beginning of the Damage Step up to and including damage calculation.
