What happened to Tytannial, Princess of Camellias? One day she was in every Deck that played Lonefire Blossom, but now that Plant-based Decks are very popular, not a lot of Duelists are using the strongest Plant monster. Today we’re going to look at some of the benefits of adding Tytannial to your Deck, and why it’s a very important card to have when playing against certain Decks.

Tytannial, Princess of Camellias is a Level 8 Plant-Type monster with 2800 ATK, and its effect can protect you from all sorts of opposing card effects. Whenever a card (or cards) on the field is targeted by a card effect, you can Tribute 1 Plant-Type monster to negate the activation of that card’s effect and destroy it. There are several cards being played right now that Tytannial can stop, from Caius the Shadow Monarch and Enemy Controller in WATER Synchro Decks toDimensional Prison and Gravekeeper’s Descendant in Gravekeeper Decks. T.G. Decks haveTG1-EM1 and Horn of the Phantom Beast, and Six Samurai have Hand of the Six Samurai. Most of these cards can only be stopped by Solemn Judgment, Seven Tools of the Bandit orEffect Veiler so having a Tytannial in your Deck gives you another option to protect your cards.

Tytannial, Princess of Camellias’ effect lets you Tribute any Plant-Type monster you control for its effect, and there are plenty of ways to keep several Plant-Type monsters on the field to stop your opponent over multiple turns. If you control a Dandylion and Tribute it, you get 2Fluff Tokens which are also Plant-Type monsters, letting you use Tytannial’s effect twice more. Combine that Dandylion with Limit Reverse or Debris Dragon and you’ll never run out of Tokens to keep your cards safe! If you’re running a pure Plant Deck you can also make the most of Black Garden, one of the toughest Field Spells for opponents to play against. Whenever a  player Normal or Special Summons, Black Garden cuts the Summoned monster’s ATK in half and gives the Summoning player’s opponent an 800 ATK Rose Token. Summon Tytannial first, then play Black Garden and you’ll have a stronger monster than anything your opponent can Summon and access to potentially limitless Tokens to use for Tytannial’s effect!

Tytannial, Princess of Camellias also has another trick up its sleeve; it can be Special Summoned with Lonefire Blossom’s effect. Whether you’re running a pure Plant Deck, Gigavise (which combines Plant-Type monsters with Supervise and Gigaplant) or any form of Plant Synchro, you’re going to come across high ATK monsters like Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En, Stardust Dragon and Chaos Sorcerer at any tournament you attend. More often than not you’re going to have to play several cards to Summon something strong enough to take down these monsters, and that’s even harder when Shi En and Stardust can negate certain cards in your Deck. With Tytannial in your Deck though, all you have to do is Summon Lonefire Blossom, Tribute it for its effect and Special Summon Tytannial, Princess of Camellias from your Deck to overpower your opponent’s ace monster!

Tytannial, Princess of Camellias is a card that every Duelist should consider when they’re building anything that uses a lot of Plant-Type monsters, and thanks to Gold Series 4: Pyramids Edition it’s easier to find than ever before!
