Extreme Victory has a lot of great cards that can go in a lot of great Decks. One card that can go in any Deck, or Side Deck, is Debunk.

Debunk is a Counter Trap Card that you use when an Effect Monster’s effect activates in the hand or Graveyard. Debunk negates that effect and banishes the offending monster. The great thing about Debunk is that you can use it in almost every Deck, and against almost every Deck! Let’s look at some of the popular decks Debunk counters.
Blackwing Decks have been a staple of the tournament scene for a long time. More and more, Blackwing Duelists are using multiple copies of Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor.Debunk negates Vayu and removes it from play, leaving your opponent struggling to find a completely new play. You can also negate the effect of Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadowor the upcoming Blackwing – Jetstream the Blue Sky, so you’ll always have a good use for it! These builds also like to use Gorz the Emissary of Darkness and Tragoedia, giving you even more card effects to halt in their tracks with the power of Debunk.
Plant Decks have steadily grown in popularity over the last year or so, with the release of powerful new support like Spore and Glow-Up Bulb, we’ve seen more and more Plant Decks at the top tables of tournaments. Unfortunately for Plant duelists, Debunk stops them dead in their tracks. From the two monsters I mentioned above to the all-important Dandylion,Debunk can negate them all and remove them from play, and with only one of each of those monsters in their Deck, no Plant duelist wants to see any of those monsters get forced out of the game permanently.
Frog Monarchs are also deathly afraid of Debunk, since a large part of their strategy hinges onTreeborn Frog. A well-timed activation of Debunk can ruin their whole strategy! If your opponent doesn’t have their Treeborn Frog, they’ll probably rely on Gorz, Tragoedia, or Battle Fader to get their Tribute Monsters on the field. Thankfully, Debunk hits all of those cards as well! With Debunk Set, you can make your moves confident in the fact that your opponent will not stand a chance.
But what if you’re not facing one of those Decks? Is Debunk going to be useless? Of course not, Debunk hits some of the most popular cards in the current tournament scene. With the growing popularity of cards like Effect Veiler and Maxx “C”, as well as the already highly popular Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, you’ll almost always have a use for Debunk. This allows you play Debunk defensively as well as offensively, by protecting your big plays from being shut down by any of those cards.
While you might not have room for it in their Main Deck, I think it’s fair to say that you should try your best to get Debunk into your Side Deck. We’re be seeing a lot of it in the weeks to come!
