The Sneak Peek is just days away, so it’s time for a quick overview of the 3 main new strategies introduced in Extreme Victory! Tech Genus (T.G. for short) can build the ultimate Synchro Monsters, Meklords are the ultimate Synchro Destroyers, and the new Psychic monsters turn everything you know about Psychic Dueling on its head. Read on to learn more!
The T.G. monsters are all about quick Synchro Summon combos. Most T.G. monsters have a special effect that lets you search your Deck for a different T.G. monster if the current one is destroyed. That means you can easily assemble all the pieces to your ultimate Synchro Summon combo without running out of cards to play!
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters When an opponent's Spell/Trap Card is activated that targets this card, you can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the effect. Once per opponent's turn, you can remove from play 1 "T.G." monster from your Graveyard to remove this face-up card on the field from play. During the next Standby Phase, Special Summon this card, if removed by this effect.
T.G. Decks are best at Synchro Summoning Level 5 monsters, and one of their Level 5 Synchro Monsters is also a Tuner monster! If you Synchro Summon using T.G. Wonder Magician, the Level 5 Synchro/Tuner, and any other Level 5 Synchro, you can Summon T.G. Blade Blaster, a monster with 3300 ATK and the ability to escape from harm at any time on  your opponent’s turn!
On the other side of the battle are the ultimate Synchro Destroyers, the Meklords! There are three levels of Meklord monsters: Meklord Army, Meklord Emperor, and Meklord Astro. Each and every one of them hates Synchro Monsters with every nut and bolt of their being.
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by its own effect. When a face-up monster you control is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Other monsters you control cannot declare an attack. Once per turn, you can select 1 Synchro Monster your opponent controls, and equip it to this card. This card gains ATK equal to those equipped monsters' combined ATK. You can send 1 monster equipped to this card to the Graveyard to allow this card to attack your opponent directly this turn.
Meklord Emperor Skiel is a Level 1 monster you can Summon from your hand when one of your face-up monsters is destroyed by a card effect. This is really easy to do, and sometimes your opponent will even help you do it! What you get is a 2200 ATK and DEF monster that can gobble up any Synchro Monster to steal its ATK.
Most Psychic monsters have effects that are powerful but require you to take damage or pay Life Points in order to use them. The new Psychic monsters in Extreme Victory are nothing like that. These monsters use their powers to predict and plan for future events in the Duel. They do this by removing other Psychic monsters in your Deck and Graveyard from play, and then Summoning them from the void when needed.
Most of the Psychic monsters in Extreme Victory have 2 effects. One effect either removes another Psychic monster from play or activates when the monster is Summoned after being removed from play. The other either Summons a removed from play Psychic monster or gives you a removed from play card to use again. Psi-Beast is a little different.
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can remove from play 1 Psychic-Type monster from your Deck. This card's Level becomes the Level of that monster.
Psi-Beast removes any Psychic monster in your Deck from play and changes its Level to match. Then, when you Summon that monster back you’ll have 2 monsters on the field with the same Level! If you remove a Tuner monster from play, you can more easily Summon Synchro Monsters that require multiple non-Tuner monsters when you pull it back. Remove a Level 3 Psychic-Tuner from your Deck, then Summon it back and play another Level 3 monster and you can Summon Overmind Archfiend or Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrer.
Of course, having monsters that are the same Level on your side of the field are can be useful for other reasons too, but you’ll learn more about that soon enough! For now, just get ready to join in the epic battle between Synchro Monsters and the robots that want to destroy them forever at the Extreme Victory Sneak Peek this weekend!
