Scrap Duelists are going strong, and Storm of Ragnarok brings new cards to the Scrap arsenal! One of them is a never-before-seen World Premier card that gives the Deck more muscle, and another way to recycle Scrap Chimera from the Graveyard. Scrap Breaker is a Level 6 EARTH Machine-Type with 2100 ATK and 700 DEF:
If your opponent controls a monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Special Summoned this way, select 1 face-up Scrap monster you control, and destroy it.
Scrap Breaker lets you trade a smaller “Scrap” monster like Scrap Mind Reader or ScrapSearcher for a 2100 ATK beatstick, but its real strength lies in its ability to destroy Scrap Tuners that let you return Scrap Chimera from your Graveyard to your hand. For over half a year now, Scrap Duelists have focused their strategy on destroying Scrap Beast and ScrapGoblin with Scrapstorm and Scrap Dragon, to use their effects and get back Scrap Chimera.
If you start your turn with Scrap Beast or Scrap Goblin on the field, you can Special SummonScrap Breaker and use its effect to destroy your Tuner. That Tuner’s effect will then let you take back a Scrap Chimera from your hand, and since you haven’t Normal Summoned yet for the turn, you can immediately Summon Chimera. Special Summon Scrap Beast, Tune it to Chimera, and you’ll have 2 big attackers on the field with a total of 4900 ATK.
Using Scrap Dragon or Scrapstorm to destroy your Scrap Tuner and recycle Scrap Chimera is a great strategy, but sometimes it just isn’t enough. Experienced Scrap Duelists run 3Scrapstorms and 3 Scrap Dragons, but the combos don’t always come together. ScrapBreaker gives you another way to trade those Beasts and Goblins for Chimera, making your Deck faster and more consistent.
Scrap Decks also pick up a new Tuner in Storm of Ragnarok. Scrap Worm is a Level 2 Tuner, and like Goblin and Beast, it lets you return a “Scrap” monster from your Graveyard to your hand when it’s destroyed by the effect of a “Scrap” card. As an added bonus, Scrap Wormcan attack your opponent directly: when it does, you destroy it at the end of the Battle Phase and trigger its effect.
As a Level 2 Tuner, Scrap Worm is a nice combo with Scrap Breaker. If you control something like Scrap Searcher, you can Special Summon Scrap Breaker, destroy Searcher, and then Normal Summon Scrap Worm to make Scrap Dragon.
Speed and field-clearing power are the Scrap Deck’s biggest strengths, while consistency is their biggest challenge. By giving you better access to Scrap Chimera, Scrap Breaker makes your Scrap Deck more powerful, and more reliable! Look for it at your Storm of Ragnarok Sneak Preview.
