There are many Decks out there that are capable of winning tournaments, and most of them use several monsters of a similar attribute. Blackwings and Gravekeepers are full of DARK monsters, X-Sabers use mainly EARTH monsters and the key cards in Formula Monarchs are all WATER-based. 2 of the most popular Decks in recent times are full of LIGHT monsters though, Lightsworn and LIGHT Gemini Beatdown. Both of these Decks are difficult to beat once they get going, but with Hidden Arsenal 3 Duelists will have access to a monster that can make LIGHT Duelists everywhere tremble with fear: Ally of Justice Decisive Armor.
The Ally of Justice monsters are all about defeating LIGHT monsters, and Ally of Justice Decisive Armor is no different. If your opponent controls a LIGHT monster while Decisive Armor is on the field, you can activate one of its 3 effects:
Its first effect lets you destroy 1 Set card your opponent controls. Against Lightsworn this could mean getting rid of a face-down Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter or one of many Set Spells and Traps if you’re facing LIGHT Gemini.
To activate Decisive Armor’s second effect you must send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard, but when you do you get to destroy every Spell and Trap your opponent controls! One of the reasons for LIGHT Gemini Beatdown’s success is that Heavy Storm is Forbidden, and their Spells and Traps won’t all get blown away in an instant. That lets them set up huge defences that most Decks can’t handle. If you can Summon Ally of Justice Decisive Armorthough, your opponent will never feel safe, and if you use its effect at the right time there’s nothing they can do to stop you.
Decisive Armor’s final effect will be more useful against Lightsworn Duelists than any other popular Deck. By sending every card in your hand to the Graveyard you get to look at your opponent’s hand. Then, your opponent sends every LIGHT monster in their hand to the Graveyard, and loses Life Points equal to their combined ATK! If you ever get to use this effect against Lightsworn you’ll almost certainly win the Duel there and then, as the Deck packs several LIGHT monsters with high ATK, from the 2100 ATK Wulf, Lightsworn Beast to the 3000 ATK Judgment Dragon.
You can also use this effect to just get a sneak peek at your opponent’s hand, and get rid of any copies of Honest before you declare an attack. This will work against both Lightsworn and LIGHT Gemini Beatdown as both Decks make use of Honest to win key battles. If you’re using this effect it’s a good idea to Set as many cards you can first, as the effect will work even as long as you have at least 1 card in your hand when you activate it.
Ally of Justice Decisive Armor is a Level 10 Synchro Monster that requires 1 Tuner and 2 non-Tuners, but several Decks will be able to Summon it with ease. If you’re playing Blackwings and you already control a Level 4 monster, you can Normal Summon Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North and use its effect to Special Summon a Level 4 Blackwing from your Graveyard. If the only monster on your field is Blackwing – Sirocco the Dawn (Level 5) you can use Blizzard’s effect to get a Level 3 monster and combine your 3 monsters to Summon Ally of Justice Decisive Armor.
In X-Sabers you can Summon XX-Saber Faultroll and follow it up with XX-Saber Ragiguraand XX-Saber Fulhelmknight to get your 3 monsters and 10 Levels. Plant Synchro Duelists can use Tytannial, Princess of Camellias, a Fluff Token and Glow-Up Bulb to Synchro Summon Decisive Armor. In fact, if a Deck can easily Summon Mist Wurm (Level 9) then it can just as easily Summon Ally of Justice Decisive Armor, you just need to use a monster with 1 higher Level than you would normally.
Ally of Justice Decisive Armor’s a card that can win Duels on its own when you’re playing against LIGHT-based Decks. Even if you’re not playing against one of those Decks the 3300 ATK and DEF makes Decisive Armor one of the strongest monsters around, and you can only get your hands on it in Hidden Arsenal 3!
