nfernity Decks are one of the newest competitive Decks, made possible by the release of The Shining Darkness. Infernity Decks are unlike any other Deck. While most Duelists like to have a lot of cards in their hands, Infernity Duelists need to have no cards in their hands in order for them to use their best cards!

Most Infernity cards will only work for a Duelist with no cards in his hand. That’s why the Infernity Decks you see in tournaments don’t usually run a lot of monsters. Since you can only Normal Summon one monster each turn, drawing too many can clog up a Duelist’s hand. Spells and Traps, however, can be Set face-down immediately so you never have to worry about them getting stuck in your hand.
Infernity Decks usually rely on getting Infernity ArchfiendInfernity Necromancer, andInfernity Beetle into the Graveyard to win. That’s why they run cards like Foolish Burial andInfernity Inferno to send those monsters from the Deck to the Graveyard. Infernity Infernoalso helps Duelists discard the unwanted cards in their hands. Once a Duelist gets those 3 monsters into the Graveyard, he can use a single copy of Infernity Mirage or Infernity Launcher to win the Duel!

Use these cards to get your Infernity Monsters into the Graveyard!

Infernity Mirage and Infernity Launcher can each Special Summon 2 monsters from your Graveyard while you have no cards in your hand. You can choose to Special Summon Infernity Necromancer and Infernity Beetle. Then, as long as you have no cards in your hand, you can activate the effect of Infernity Necromancer to Special Summon Infernity Archfiend from your Graveyard. When it’s Special Summoned, Infernity Archfiend lets you search your Deck forInfernity Launcher and add it to your hand. Then you can Tune Infernity Necromancer,Infernity Archfiend, and Infernity Beetle together to Synchro Summon Mist Wurm and return your opponent’s cards to his hand!
Next, you can activate your newly-searched Infernity Launcher and use it to Special SummonInfernity Necromancer and Infernity Beetle, repeating the combo as many times as you can search your Deck for Infernity Launcher! Instead of Mist Wurm, sometimes you may want to make a Level 6 Synchro Monster like Goyo Guardian by just Tuning the Infernity Archfiendwith the Infernity Beetle, or make a Level 5 Synchro Monster like Magical Android by Tuning the Infernity Beetle with the Infernity Necromancer. With the ability for Infernity Decks to swarm the field with powerful Synchro Monsters, they can take down opponents in a single turn!

Step 1: Use Infernity Mirage or Infernity Launcher to Special Summon Infernity Beetle and Infernity Necromancer

Step 2: Use Infernity Necromancer to Special Summon Infernity Archfiend and activate Infernity Archfiend’s effect to search your Deck for Infernity Launcher and add it to your hand.

Step 3: Tune your Infernity Beetle with Infernity Necromancer and Infernity Archfiend to Synchro Summon Mist WurmStep 4: Repeat the combo from Step 1 and proceed to win the Duel!

To make sure the combo is successful, most Infernity Duelists use cards like Infernity Barrierand Solemn Judgment to stop their opponents from disrupting the combo. Without this protection, a simple Compulsory Evacuation Device or D.D. Crow can ruin everything. Dust Tornado and Raigeki Break can also be used to tear down your opponent’s defensive Traps so your combo goes off without a hitch.
Some Infernity Duelists also use Infernity Avenger, which can be Special Summoned from your Graveyard when one of your monsters is destroyed in battle, as long as you have no cards in your hand. It provides a good defense for Infernity Duelists, since it can keep coming back onto the field to block attacks. It also helps to smooth over Synchro Summons since it’s a Level 1 Tuner. You can Tune it with Infernity Necromancer and Infernity Archfiend to Summon powerful Level 8 Synchro Monsters like Infernity Doom Dragon and Hundred-Eyes Dragon.
Infernity Decks have explosive powers that enable them to end a Duel quickly after it starts. An Infernity Deck took second place at the recent YCS in Chantilly and is continuing to gain popularity as people become familiar with the plays it can make. If you want to beat it, it’s important to understand how the Deck works before facing it in a competitive environment.
