Spore is a Level 1 Tuner that can be Special Summoned from your Graveyard by removing a Plant-Type monster. When you Special Summon Spore from your Graveyard in this way, it gains Levels equal to the Level of the Plant-Type monster you removed to Summon it.

Being able to Special Summon a Tuner from your Graveyard when you need it is a powerful ability, but changing its Level to match the Level you need makes it even better! You can commonly remove Level 3 monsters like Dandylion or Lonefire Blossom from your Graveyard to Special Summon Spore as a Level 4 Tuner. You can also use cards like Foolish Burial andKoa’ki Meiru Gravirose to quickly put Spore in your Graveyard to Special Summon it as soon as you need it.

Cherry Inmato is also a Plant from The Shining Darkness. It’s a Level 2 Tuner that lets you Special Summon 2 “Inmato” monsters from your Deck when it’s destroyed in battle. That means you can Special Summon Inmato and Cherry Inmato. Since Inmato is a Level 3 non-Tuner, you can Tune your two monsters together to Synchro Summon a Level 5 Synchro Monster like Ally of Justice Catastor. Catastor is especially strong against X-Saber Duelists, who can’t attack over it with all of their EARTH monsters.

After your opponent destroys your Cherry Inmato in battle, you can Special Summon another copy along with an Inmato. Then you can Tune them together to Synchro Summon a Level 5 monster like Ally of Justice Catastor.

Bird of Roses is another strong new Plant-Type monster. Bird of Roses has 1800 ATK and lets you Special Summon 2 Plant-Type Tuner Monsters from your Deck when it’s destroyed in battle. That means you can use it to Special Summon new Tuners like Cherry Inmato andSpore, or old favorites like Copy Plant and Nettles.

These Tuners can be used with other monsters to Synchro Summon Splendid Rose – a new Level 6 monster that lets you remove a Plant from your Graveyard to halve the ATK of an opponent’s monster. You can also remove a Plant to halve the ATK of Splendid Rose and let it attack a second time! In a Plant Deck, it’s easy to fill your Graveyard with enough Plants to activate both effects each turn. Playing cards like Lonefire Blossom and Card Trooper can help you make sure you’re able to quickly load up your Graveyard with Plants.

Another new Plant-Type monster is Revival Rose. Revival Rose is a Level 4 monster that can be Special Summoned from your Graveyard whenever one of your Level 5 or higher Plant-Type monsters is destroyed. That means you can Special Summon it when monsters like Gigaplantor Tytannial, Princess of Camellias are destroyed by cards like Bottomless Trap Hole andSmashing Ground. Once Summoned, Revival Rose can be used with your Tuners to Synchro Summon your strongest monsters. Tuning the Level 4 Revival Rose with the Level 2 Nettles, for instance, lets you Synchro Summon Splendid Rose!

There are other cool cards in The Shining Darkness too, to help out Plant Duelists. Snyffus, for instance, isn’t a Plant, but it can Tribute Plants to destroy your opponent’s face-up cards. It can also be Special Summoned from your Graveyard when a Plant-Type monster is destroyed. Try out the new Plant support to see all the new tricks at a Plant Duelist’s disposal.
