---------------------------------------------------------

If you were a fan of the new Gravekeeper’s cards in Absolute Powerforce, then you’ll be delighted to know that lots of older and different types of Decks are getting new cards in The Shining Darkness, and we’re going to look at 2 new cards for 2 very different Decks today.

Nimble Sunfish helps you do several things at once.

Nimble Sunfish is a brand new card that can be very useful in a Fish Deck. When it’s destroyed in battle and sent to the Graveyard, 2 things happen. First, you send a Fish-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Then, you can Special Summon another Nimble Sunfish from your Deck. This effect can be useful in a number of ways. First off, you get to keep a monster on the field, which makes Tribute Summoning Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth a whole lot easier, as well as giving you a Level 2 Fish to combine with Royal Swamp Eel for a Level 6 Synchro Monster. Nimble Sunfish can also be Tributed for Golden Flying Fish to destroy one of your opponent’s cards.

Nimble Sunfish’s effect also fills up the Graveyard very quickly, which lets you use Pot of Avarice earlier to draw more cards and Summon more Fish with Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth. Also, you can send Fishborg Blaster to the Graveyard with Nimble Sunfish’s effect, and since your Sunfish is a Level 2 monster, you’ll be able to use Fishborg Blaster’s effect right away. Thisgives you the 2 monsters you need to Tribute Summon Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth !

Akz, the Pumer is another new card you can find in The Shining Darkness.. You can’t Normal Summon or Set Akz, the Pumer, but instead, you remove from play 2 Beast-Warrior-Type cards from your Graveyard to Special Summon it. Since it’s a Level 6 monster, you can combine it with Shiba-Warrior Taro to Synchro Summon a Level 8 monster, and when you do, you’ll have 2 more Beast-Warriors in your Graveyard for another Akz, the Pumer, since Shiba’s also a Beast-Warrior-Type monster. Akz, the Pumer could also be useful in an X-Saber Deck, since XX-Saber Ragigura, XX-Saber Gardestrike, X-Saber Axel and X-Saber Uruz are all Beast-Warriors. You might even be able to Summon Akz, the Pumer during The Shining Darkness Sneak Peek, since XX-Saber Boggart Knight, the card you get just for entering, is another Beast-Warrior-Type monster.

Once you’ve Summoned Akz, the Pumer, there are many things you can do with it. It can be used for a Tribute or a Synchro Summon right away, or you can discard a Beast-Warrior-Type monster to activate one of its effects. When you discard a Beast-Warrior, you can choose which effect you want. The first lets you double the ATK of Akz, the Pumer up to 3000 ATK until the End Phase, enough to take down most monsters in battle. If you don’t want to activate this effect, you can use Akz’s other effect to attack your opponent directly for 1500 Life Points. The monsters you discard for Akz, the Pumer’s effect can then be sent back into the Deck with Pot of Avarice, or, if you discarded an “X-Saber” monster, you can use the effects of XX-Saber Ragigura, XX-Saber Gardestrike, XX-Saber Fulhelmknight or XX-Saber Fautroll later on in the Duel.

Both of these new cards can be useful in the right Deck, so whether you’re trying out a Fish Deck for the first time, or looking for a new trick to use with your X-Sabers, these cards could be just what you need.
