Every Duelist has to be wary of Trap Cards, as they can stop you from doing what you want to do. There are many ways to protect yourself from your opponent’s Trap Cards, you could shut them all down with “Royal Decree,” or negate the most dangerous ones with “Solemn Judgment” and “Dark Bribe.” “Trap Stun” is a card that many Duelists overlooked in Raging Battle, but it’s a simple card that can be very useful in the right situations.

“Trap Stun” is a Trap Card with a very simple effect. When it’s used, all other Trap Cards are negated for the rest of the turn. You can Chain it to a Normal or Continuous Trap Card that your opponent activates and it’ll negate it straight away. This can be useful if your opponent flips over something troublesome such as “Bottomless Trap Hole” or “Mirror Force.” If you’ve already used “Heavy Storm” or “Solemn Judgment” earlier in the Duel, your opponent might think that you’ve got no more ways to counteract hisTrap Cards. “Trap Stun” can take them by surprise and let you pull off your big combos with ease!

“Trap Stun” is very similar to “Royal Decree,” but it only lasts for 1 turn instead of staying on the field until it’s destroyed. This can be handy if you want to use some other Trap Cards in your Deck. “Royal Decree” is usually used as a card in your Side Deck when you know your opponent uses a lot of Trap Cards. The problem with this is that if you want to use it in Duels 2 and 3, you might have to take out the rest of your Trap Cards since they’ll be harder to use if you’re also playing “Royal Decree.” You don’t usually want to take out powerful cards such as “Mirror Force” and “Torrential Tribute,” but with “Trap Stun” you can keep them in and still negate your opponent’s Traps when you need to.

You can also use “Trap Stun” to negate your own Traps for a turn. Let’s say you have a “Royal Oppression” face-up on the field, but you want to Special Summon a few monsters this turn. With “Trap Stun” you could ‘switch off’ your Trap Card for a turn, and Special Summon whatever you want. You’ll also be negating all of your opponent’s Trap Cards for the rest of the turn, so they won’t be able to destroy your monsters when you Summon them and attack!

“Trap Stun” is an interesting card with a lot of uses, and a very useful card for most Side Decks. If you’ve been looking for more ways to protect your monsters from Trap Cards, this card might do the trick.
