Fossil cards are cards are used by Jim Crocodile Cook in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. Aside from Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, which was released in Light of Destruction, no official Fossil cards have been released--however, they are playable and strategically unique in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3 and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force 4. They are all Rock-based monsters with a visual theme resembling skeletal Dinosaurs or other skeletal entities. Fossil Tusker is also considered as a Fossil monster as are Mammoth Graveyard and Temple of Skulls.

These cards are all based on different eras in prehistoric times. The cards with earlier eras in their names are stronger than ones with later ones. They are mostly fusion monsters that can be fused by a card called "Fossil Fusion" instead of "Polymerization", which removes from play one Rock-Type monster in the user's Graveyard and any one monster from the opponent's Graveyard. Which Fossil monster can be summoned depends upon how high in level the removed opponent's monster is, making Fossil Fusion decks rely upon exploiting opponents who dump powerful monsters into their Graveyards as well as dumping Rocks into their own via such cards as Rock Bombardment.

The Fusions in the anime depend on certain types in your opponent's Graveyard, whilst in Tag Force 2, and 3 they rely on Levels in the Graveyard.

Card Destruction, Drop Off, and Hand Destruction are good dumping cards to help push along a better Fossil Fusion.
